Synopsis: Set on the night of the L.A. riots, this is the story of a young child and her mother watching the looting. They then have to escape their building because of smoke and perhaps a fire. They meet Mr. Kim who owns the local grocery store, which they don't frequent because they prefer to shop with their own people, on their way to the shelter. They become friends at the shelter as do their pet cats. This moment signifies the unity of the common man which comes about when we get to know them.
